Real brain power on display. Thanks for that anwser!
Essie,
Thanks for the compliment. Over the next month I will be adding tutorials for all data aggregators, local search engines, internet yellow pages, locally focused directories, and other important digital portals that I have found are essential to improve rankings in local search results. Listing, claiming, and verifying your listings, detecting and deleting duplicates and the whole process of managing your data can be a nightmare. I wish that someone would have broke it all down like this for me when I first started.
Cody – in your opinion, what is the value of using Localeze’s Enhanced listing ($297/year retail price) versus the free option described above? I’ve long expected it depends on how many of Localeze’s downstream data users use that more detailed information, and if Localeze prioritizes, or gives more trust to, those Enhanced Listings in distributing them to downstream partners. But, that seems to be a black box.
(And while I’m at it, I’ve got the same question re: the other “Big 6″ providers Tier 1 citation providers that offer paid “enhanced” listings, if you have thoughts on those?)
Matt,
That’s a great question. I’ve always gone down the free path. It’s funny that you’ve asked because I spoke with a sales rep. at Localeze with the same question last week. The impression that I had at the end of my call was manual for each is still the best route. Even if you pay for the Enhanced Listing, you still have to go through the verification process for Localeze and those portals that they provided data to. I decided that I am going to pay and use it with one of my new clients in January so that I can speak with first hand experience. I can tell you that if you are an agency you can pay $1500 per year and then each listing/location you submit will be $50 per year for the Enhanced Service.
I still believe that manually claiming and verifying your listings with Google Places, Express Update (Infogroup) and many other secondary portals or search engines like superpages.com, yellowpages.com etc. is the best route. I would love someone to provide answers with a simpler solution if they are available as this process can be very time consuming.
I tried UBL.org, and didn’t enjoy the experience. Sorry UBL. I worried that Localeze would be the same experience. I spend so much time finding and deleting duplicates with all the secondary portals that I thought it may be worth paying for the enhanced listing just to start with one listing for each of the secondary portals that Localeze provides data to.
I will reach out to some of the guru’s that created Local Ranking Factors and see if they can provide insight to your question.
Can someone answer Matt’s question that has paid the $297 for Localeze’s Enhanced Listing and has more experience here?
